Whiter Than Snow

While I was driving on a brisk winter’s day

I beheld a beautiful crystalline display.

And the snow all around seemed to portray

That all of life’s ugliness had just passed away.

Psalms fifty-one soon came to my mind

“Wash me and I shall be whiter than snow “

Here’s the puzzling question, I find.

What could be whiter than snow?

For snow is so pure and refined.

The answer came as I was onward bound

As pretty as the snow may be

It’s simply covering the dirt on the ground

So the earth’s crudeness we cannot see.

God cleanses us from sin’s dark curse

And completely renews us within.

Washing us thoroughly of all that’s adverse

He doesn’t simply cover up our sin.

Whiter than Snow? Yes, whiter than snow.

That’s a fact upon which we can depend

It’s all because of Calvary, you know.

So rejoice in that knowledge, my friend.
