Our music program is very unique and individualized.  Don Hamilton, a retired teacher,
volunteers his time and talents to teach the students.  He comes to us with a background
in music - having taught music theory and guitar (classical, folk, & pop) to a variety of
students ages six to adult over the last 30+ years.  He also designed and builds an instrument
based on an ancient plucked psaltery that has a beautiful sound and can be played by anyone.

Mr. Hamilton incorporates keyboard, hammered dulcimer, auto harp, plucked psaltery,
guitar, chimes, and rhythm instruments into his program.  Students are given the
opportunity to choose the ones they are interested in and learn to play both individually
and with the group.  This year Mr. Hamilton will also be working with us and each
student will be able to build their own crystal xylophone.  In the future, he plans to
have the students build a plucked psaltery that will then be theirs to keep.
